Menu boards seem like one of the more straight forward sign applications; in reality, it is one of the more time intensive projects for both the customer and the designer. It is important before design begins that all elements of the menu board – items, descriptions, prices, sizes, categories, etc – be complete. Once design/layout begins, it is difficult to make major changes without starting over. Whether that detail is laid out in a word processing document or hand written on an envelope, the completeness of the information is key.
To begin the quote process, we’ll want to know size, placement, any considerations for changing prices or items, any environmental issues (ie, above the fryer) as well as the obvious – colors, look, graphic elements, etc. S2imaging will recommend a solution with a price quote for your review. With agreement on the proposal, design will begin and a final proof will be delivered for one last check. Scour that proof for every detail so that it is right. Menu boards are one of the more difficult signs to correct if an error is found. And, if we have your approval on a final draft, any subsequent error may be considered your responsibility.
